From the central business district take a train to Prahran station on the Sandringham line and the Alfred is a 10 minute walk along Greville Street.
Alternatively take a train to South Yarra station which is on the Sandringham, Pakenham, Cranbourne and Frankston lines and the Alfred is a 20 minute walk.
Tram 72 (Camberwell - Melbourne University route) – stops at the front of The Alfred on Commercial Road.
Trams 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 - Stop on St Kilda Road - get off at Commercial Road (Stop 25) then a 5-10 minute walk along Commercial Road.
Bus routes 216, 219 and 220 will take passengers from the city to The Alfred.
There are numerous cafes, restaurants and takeaway food located in and nearby The Alfred.
There is a cafe on the 7th floor of the Baker IDI building offering great views north toward the CBD or east toward the Dandenongs.
